Hello, I'm Chloe
I manage projects. I am a parent. Expat living in Lyon, France.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and changing expectations. Daily tasks felt more complicated than anticipated.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet, gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built LucidShoreline
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to fill that void — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.
